More and more, so it seems to me, light is the beautifier of the building."
Frank Lloyd Wright - architect
Beautiful Lighting is an important design element during the day.
As the sun goes down, it subtly illuminates the different layers and architectural features of alfresco areas, creating intimate garden spaces and softly highlighting walls and pathways, enhancing the enjoyment of being in your Outdoor Room
When choosing lighting that will be exposed to the elements, quality of the materials is paramount. Ideally lights and lanterns should be made from solid brass or copper, or quality die-cast aluminium, renowned for its durability. Real materials will age but their appearance improves in the process and they will not corrode.
There are so many wonderful feature lighting pieces to choose from for covered eating areas, pergolas, verandahs foyers and entrances - Hanging Lanterns and Wooden or Iron Chandeliers, Industrial or Glass Pendants, to name a few. Often these lights need to be strong and sturdy but do not require an IP Rating if not exposed to moisture. It is best to consult with your electrician before making your choice and the addition of dimmers can create a soothing atmosphere for relaxing in the night air
